Moving Moutains
Stained glass
summer 2009
57 cm x 35cm x 0.6
Originally I was going to hang this in my music studio Moving Mountains Music inspiring people to move mountains through music was my idea for my music teaching the art inspiring the love of music. This was made before my Music teacher career fell to pieces but the dream had been reinvented in many ways. I feel the art still inspires the music and the music inspires the art. This piece hangs in my childhood room which is now a guest bedroom in my parent's home, so it is still close to my heart.

Water Fall
Mix media on poster board
fall 2006
52 cm x 67 cm
Inspiration: Copied from the cover of my grade 12 Philosophy text book. I love how the water colour of the pool of water, the oil pastel of the falls, the acrylic paint of the trees and the marker of the cliffs all play off each other. I find that it is a very neat-looking piece. I have carried it with me for 18 years and finally framed it in recent months. It is an enchanting piece you can get lost in. This waterfall is one of my all-time favourite creations.

Drum
Buffalo hide and cedar wood frame with acrylic paint.
Spring 2018
This was my first drum I made it has a loud deep rich sound. I was staying in a women's shelter in northern British Colombia, Canada. My aboriginal room mate at the time mentioned she going to just out a drum group. I tagged along, borrowed a drum that night. The drum group said I could join but I would need to get my own drum. I said out loud half joking " Universe get me a drum!" someone across the room points to a flyer on the wall saying "free drum making workshop" happening in town the next month. Not only did I make this gorgeous drum for free the workshop provide free meals all for weeks. I then travelled all around BC drumming at festivals and events in an aboriginal drumming group.

Violin
I painted my full size violin
spring 2018
Like the drum I was living in a shelter in British Colombia, Canada. This was a beautiful mistake that I equally regret and love. Next time I paint a violin I will get a string shop to take the strings off and change the accessories on the violin and put them on after painting. Never ever going to by cheap accessories from China and try to alter them to fit a violin myself again. I did mess up my violin a little bit with the pegs and tail piece but a music shop fixed it up for me. It is still a great sounding violin and I very much adore the paint job I did. All worked out in the end. I have not painted my other violin but when I get a viola and cello they will likely also get painted. I just will leave the technical part of the instrument redesign to string professionals.

Undone Autumn
Acrylic painting on large canvas 136cm x 58cm x 6 cm
fall 2019
This hung out in an art studio that runs classes to inspire other creators to create for over a year. * Only the main painting is my work. My idea was the brilliant sun shining through birch trees. This has multi-dimensional depth. you can look at it ever expanding let to right, right to left, changing of time through the seasons, ever-expanding into or out of the picture, up or down and even the canvas has quite a bit of depth. Autumn Undone is the painting undone or are you coming undone looking at it?

King Fisher
Chalk Pastel
15 cm x 28 cm
summer 2016
I had seen a picture of a King Fisher in a book and I was inspired by the striking colours and intricate details of the bird to draw it. I am proud to have done such a striking likeness to a kingfisher bird.

River mountains
Acrylic on board
110cm by 73cm
Spring 2013
I needed something nice to hide a messy bookshelf turned out one of my favourite pieces. It flows and it is just kind of magical in its own right.

Journeyman's song
Clay, acrylic and board
28cm x15 cm x 25 cm
winter 2005
One of my all time favourite pieces I made. I gave it away in 2017 and I am not likely to see it again. Probably one of my biggest regrets was sending this piece away and how painful that event went down. Unfortunately, I was messed up back then and could not think clearly. I tried to recreate the masterpiece to no avail. the concept is the vessel of clay we form coming out of a portal of song in our soul. I hand copied the music from a Celtic tune in one of flute books. I loved every detail of that ship. Up until this year 2022 i was such a perfectionist with my art I rarely finished pieces and was highly critical of them. This piece was so unique to me because I could find no fault in it.

Wise Owl
Oil Pastel
on watercolour paper standard paper size
What drew me to drawing this owl was I wanted to capture the rich texture of its feathers. I do not believe I manage to achieve the softness but I am happy to have gotten the colours and some of the patterns of the owl. definitely, a subject worth revisiting.

Scotland Castle
Water colour.
This is a scene inspired by a photograph I took in Scotland. One of those precious moments of " sky want to paint that sky!" I actually revisited the memory and did.

Polar Nights
Stained glass,
22cm x 40 cm
This was the first stained glass piece I made. More complicated a design then most people start with but this northern lights polar bear picture came out so beautifully and was a delight to make it was worth all the cuts and hardship to make it.

Kaleidoscope Lion
Marker On Canvas
46 cm x 62 cm x 2 cm
If you stare at the forehead of this lion it opens a gateway to different planes and allows you to communicate with interdimensional beings. I have enjoyed the connections it has facilitated for me. What i was creating this picture it was as through the markers had a life of their own rapidly flowing around the page layering with the other colours to make this wondrous lion.

Milk Shade Flower
I was staying in a shelter at the time and someone stole the lampshade. Milk container coat hangers, a lot of time spent making it functional and this beauty was created. One side has a rose and another side has a white dove that turns to a brown dove when the light is on.

Brush Holder
Painted Ceramic. The flip side has winter trees.
This was to be a paintbrush holder holding wooding paintbrushes. The artistic train of thought was " Flip side fall trees, flip side winter trees, flip 'old trees' the bare paint brushes, flip side 'new trees' trees of creations to be painted - four seasons of 'painted' trees'. brush holder "

Cheatah
oil pastel on canvas board
20cm x 30 cm
This started out as what was going to be a coloured pencil lioness mate to the marker lion but a hundred layers of oil pastel late into the night later it was most definitely a cheetah staring back at me. Layer after layer would go on and be scratched off my hands were so sore and caked with colour when I stopped. Throughout the whole process the eyes peered right into me and I peered into it. Layer by layer the cats stared deeper into each other. Late into the night, they eyed one another knowing each other more with every layer revealed.

Changing of Time
Acrylic On Canvas Clock with paper Mache around the sides
90 cm x 60cm x 4cm
I wanted to capture the essence of changing of time in a fun and vibrant way. Fall is my favourite season and it played off the colours of kitchen nicely.

African- Hawk Eagle Carving
Wood carving
This was my first wood carving. I am proud to say it does look like its subject, an African Hawk-Eagle. There were broken blades, blood, sweat, and tears that went into making it. when it started looking like a bird I was so happy. I was self-taught. Now I am working on large scale wood relief carvings.
